BOSTON - (Tuesday, July 18, 2022) - The Massachusetts Legislature on Monday unanimously passed a $52.7 billion budget for Fiscal Year 2023 (FY23). Building on the foundation of last years efforts to tackle deep poverty, the FY23 budget supports working families struggling with the economic toll associated with rising costs and includes a record investment in the annual childs clothing allowance, providing $400 per child for eligible families to buy clothes for the upcoming school year. We worked together to produce a budget that makes record-level investments in the services that will make a difference in the lives of our constituents, saidState Senator Patrick OConnor (R-Weymouth), ranking member of the Committee on Ways and Means.
